Sohna completes Kuwait move

Gambia's Ebrima Sohna signs for Al-Arabi
Gambia international Ebrima Sohna has completed a move to Kuwaiti side Al-Arabi on a two-and-half-year contract.

The 27-year-old midfielder joined on a free-transfer from Finnish club Kuopion Palloseura, whom he guided to a 9th place finish in last year’s Veikkausliiga, playing 29 of the club’s 33 league matches.

The former FC Vostok, Rovaniemen Palloseura, Sandefjord and Wallidan player landed in Kuwait in the early hours of Thursday morning on-board EgyptAir Flight MSR612 before putting pen to paper in the afternoon.

Sohna, who spoke to Sports Link from his base in Mansūriya said: “The fans here are going crazy even before I play for the team, the people love football. I am super happy to complete this transfer and I cannot wait to get started!”

Jordanian agent Loay Yaser Al-hmoud, who was influential in the Gambian’s transfer together with his Kuwaiti partner Fahad AlAhmad, said: “I and my partner [AlAhmad] worked hard to strike this deal [between Sohna and Al-Arabi]. I am so happy because I know he is good and a skillful player with good national team experience.”
