Djurgården make Amadou Jawo deal permanent

Swedish Allsvenskan club Djurgården IF have confirmed the signing of Gambian-born striker Amadou Jawo on a five-year contract from IF Elfsborg.

The 29-year-old striker, who joined Djurgården last season on loan from Elfsborg, has been linked to quit the Tele2 Arena club for months with Polish Ekstraklasa club Legia Warszawa reported front runners to acquire his signature.

Gambia face tough path to 2015 Africa Cup of Nations

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Monday released a new system that placed Gambia into the preliminaries and ultimately laid out a challenging route for the Scorpions to Morocco next year.

The 34-year-old FIFA match official from the Gambia’s North Bank village of Meme has been shortlisted for CAF’s Referee of the Year award along with two others – Cameroonian Alioum Néant and Algerian Djamel Haimoudi, who won the award in 2012.
