Kebba Jallow and elder brother Dawda Bah |
Gambian midfielder Kebba
Jallow is currently undergoing a two-week trial with Finnish Veikkausliiga club
FF Jaro, this blog can reveal.
Kebba, 22, is hoping to kick-start his professional career
in the Nordic country of Finland just like his elder brother, Gambia
international Dawda Bah, did when he left local club Hawks to join Kokkolan
Palloveikot [KPV] in 2005.
“He [Kebba] has been recommended through [his brother] and
is [a] very interesting player. He will be here over the next few weeks,
because we still need some reinforcements. But we cannot get carried [away]
because he must fit into our puzzle,” Jaro’s media officer Jukka Karjalainen
said.
Earlier on Sunday, Dawda Bah took on the social networking
site Facebook to confirm his brother’s arrival to Finland and the imminent trial
with Jaro.
The 30-year-old wrote: “I thank Allah that he brought my
brother safe from Gambia. I wish his test in Finland will go well INSHALLAH. Every
one say he’s better than me in football and I believe it. INSHALLAH, Allah will
make his football dream to come true. Good [luck] my brother Kebba going to
Jaro FC.”
He later told Finnish tabloid Helsingin Sanomat, “He [Kebba]
is like me, a midfielder who can play on both sides. [I] believe that he will
do his best. Maybe he can start his career here if he passes the trial.”
This blog
understands that Kebba, a versatile footballer, who can play as a defensive and
attacking midfielder, will be featured in the club’s two upcoming test matches
against KPV and a yet to be determined opponent.
