Gambian striker Pa Sulay Njie |
Striker Pa Sulay Njie
is reportedly close to agreeing a deal with League Two club Shrewsbury Town
after completing a successful trial.
The Gambia Under-21 forward has spent more than a week at the
Blues who currently lie sixth on the 24-team table.
He caught the eyes of head coach Micky Mellon after his
impressive performance in the reserve team’s 3-3 draw with Morecambe FC last
week Tuesday.
He was close to joining League One club Chesterfield but
both parties couldn’t agree on a deal and it seems as though, Shrewsbury, who
have shown great interest in him, might be securing his services.
The former Stoke City and Coventry City player made his
international debut playing for the Gambian Under-20 team against Sierra Leone
in a 2011 African U-20 Championship qualification match on 24 July 2010.
