Djurgården make Amadou Jawo deal permanent

Swedish Allsvenskan club Djurgården IF have confirmed the signing of Gambian-born striker Amadou Jawo on a five-year contract from IF Elfsborg.

The 29-year-old striker, who joined Djurgården last season on loan from Elfsborg, has been linked to quit the Tele2 Arena club for months with Polish Ekstraklasa club Legia Warszawa reported front runners to acquire his signature.

Gambia face tough path to 2015 Africa Cup of Nations

The Scorpions’ road to the 2015 African Cup of Nations finals in Morocco is set to commence in May 2014 with a preliminary round of qualification.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Monday released a new system that placed Gambia into the preliminaries and ultimately laid out a challenging route for the Scorpions to Morocco next year.

Gambia, two time winners of the U-17 Championship, will play the first leg of the tie in Banjul in the weekend of 13, 14 and 15 June 2014 before travelling to Conakry for the second leg two weeks later.
