Gambian player on trial with Chicago Fire

Gambian midfielder Bubacarr Jobe is currently undergoing a three-day trial with Major League Soccer club Chicago Fire, this blog can reveal.

The former Steve Biko player is making progress with his soccer development. He will undergo three days of intensive training at the Fire’s training complex and home stadium field – Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Illinois.

The 19-year-old, who is a member of Rush Soccer, an academy committed to the development of healthy youth through the game of soccer, will train with Frank Klopas’ side with a view of earning a deal with the Major League Soccer club.

He recently played with Texas Rush where he scored 10 goals in 27 games in the Development Academy last season.

The attacking midfielder with decent size will train with the Fire as he looks for a professional opportunity now that he is too old for the Development Academy.

The Gambian teenager was selected in the Super-20 League which honoured him as the Most Valuable Player, for leading his side to the championship placing him in the 2013 Championship All-Tournament Team.

His team plays in the U.S Soccer Development Academy, an American soccer league considered the top tier of youth soccer in the United States features youth academies and youth clubs from various organizations, including Major League Soccer, the North American Soccer League and the United Soccer Leagues.
