Seejou King pens permanent deal with Sporting Lisbon

Seejou King signs permanent contract with Sporting Lisbon
Portuguese Primeira Liga [top tier] club Sporting Lisbon have completed the signing of Danish-born Gambian defender Seejou ‘Krea’ King on a permanent basis after he impressed on loan at the Estádio José Alvalade, this blog can reveal.

Seejou King had been on a season-long loan last season withthe 18-time Portuguese champions and has been a big hit, scoring three times in 13 appearances for the Lisbon club’s reserve team.

But Sporting Lisbon have now tied him down to a three-year contract after reaching an agreement with Danish Superligaen side FC Nordsjælland over the final 12 months of his Wild Tigers’ contract.

Nordsjælland Sports director Jan Laursen stated, “It is gratifying that one of our own players have done so well abroad, that a major European club wants to assign him permanently.”

Laursen continued: “It’s a good sign that our talent work is at a level which is noted around Europe and so has our European matches against Sporting just enough also been a key factor in the knowledge of our club, players and style of play.”

“We are impressed that Seejou has solved the challenge so well in his new surroundings, and when Seejou had a great desire to pursue the chance to advance from Sporting’s B team for their A-team, we have also sought a solution which gave him the opportunity to live abroad dream.”

“We want to wish Seejou good luck in the future and look forward to following his progress,” Jan Laursen concluded.

It is believed that King will act as a possible long-term replacement for former Liverpool left back Emiliano Insúa, who has left the club to join Spanish La Liga side Atlético Madrid.
