Dawda Bah in Serbia for trials with Vojvodina

Injury-ravaged Dawda Bah
Injury-ravaged Gambia international Dawda Bah is reported to be having trials in Serbia with a top club FK Vojvodina Novi Sad.

The club is currently fourth in the Serbian SuperLiga, nine points off the leaders, FK Partizan Belgrade.

Dawda Bah was forced to look for a new club after German Bundesliga side FC Augsburg decided last month to terminate his contract, apparently for disciplinary reasons.

The decision followed a long injury layoff by the Gambian forward who made only one appearance for Augsburg as a late second half substitute, after his move there in August 2011 from Finnish Veikkausliiga side HJK Helsinki.

If his current trial is successful and he gets a contract, Dawda will join a club with a rich history.

Vojvodina was one of the most successful clubs in the former Yugoslavia, winning two league titles, in 1966 and 1989, and finishing as runners-up on three occasions. They have also won the UEFA Intertoto Cup.

Vojvodina is the third oldest club in the SuperLiga and the most successful in Serbia after rivals Red Star Belgrade and Partizan.

Vojvodina Coach Nebojša Vignjević seems impressed with Dawda Bah’s trial but whether he gets a contract offer remains to be seen.
