The 22-year-old midfielder revealed to this blog that he signed a two-year contract with the Trelleborg-based side joining them from Division 2 Södra Götaland side BK Olympic.

Ngum, who is also referred to as Mad Beck, told the club’s official website, “I wanted to come to Trelleborgs and now that I am here, it feels great. I have been well received in a professional way. It is noticeable that Trelleborgs has been an elite club”.

“I want to help Trelleborgs gain promotion to the Allsvenskan [top tier] again, where the club belongs, find a place in the starting eleven and I [know I] will do! I want to be a part of the team that is there, at the front throughout the season,” added the Gambian.

Mad Beck began his professional career in 2008 when he moved to Sweden to join Malmö-based side BK Olympic where he spent five years with the team and helping them gain promotion to the Division 2.

He developed to be one of the club’s most influential players and was key to the club’s rise from Division 4 to 2.

About the club
Trelleborgs FF, or simply Trelleborg, is a Swedish football club located in Trelleborg and formed on 6 December 1926.

Trelleborgs FF has participated 17 times in Allsvenskan [top tier] and once in the UEFA-cup where the team eliminated Blackburn Rovers in the same season Rovers won the English Premier League.

Trelleborg have had a reputation of being a less fashionable provincial side, making the most of limited resources and a small fan base. The team has typically been recognised by performing goalkeepers, a strong defense and a good home record.

In 2006 the team broke the Superettan record for longest period without conceding a goal. The club is affiliated to the Skånes Fotbollförbund (Scania Football Association), which is one of the 24 district organisations of the Swedish Football Association that administers lower tier football in the non-administrative province of Scania.
